We are really excited that Jane and the lovely folk of East Sussex Music are returning to curate this wonderful part of the festival. They will be running a series of lessons and workshops aimed at getting kids playing instruments and engaging them in music making. There are likely to be a few guest appearances and children will have the chance to be part of a special BBC Ten Pieces performance on the main stage on Sunday.
East Sussex Music
East Sussex Music Service provides traditional instrumental teaching to individuals and small groups in schools. In addition, we teach whole class instrumental projects in the majority of primary schools in the county. Area Music Centres run on Saturdays and weekday evenings in venues across the county. Catering for children from 4 to 18, a carefully devised programme of instrumental ensembles and choirs enables children to progress to an outstanding level. Besides the long-established range of orchestras, choirs and bands we are also developing work in less traditional genres. Expert training and support is available for music teachers and non-specialists through our programme of networking events and conferences.
Timetabled sessions will run on Saturday and Sunday. A detailed schedule will be published on this page shortly.
There are sessions for children of all ages.
